Appearance: Maine is not only the youngest, but the tallest, of the New England states. He has brown hair that is a little messy, and bright green eyes, which represent Acadia National Park. He's fairly well-built, after all the hiking and logging he does. Maine happens to know absolutely nothing about fashion, nor does he really care much about it. He's usually seen wearing faded jeans, boots, and his red, plaid jacket. He has four burn scars on his chest from all the times Portland has burned down, the most severe of which is from The Great Fire in 1866.
Personality: A cheerful country boy with a big heart, Maine's motto is "The Way Life Should Be"- and that's the way he takes things. Slow, peaceful, he likes to enjoy life the way it is. He's also an optimist and will try and find the bright side in any situation, often going out of his way to try and bring a smile to someone's face, although he is somewhat reserved and introverted. The other New Englanders are much louder than he is. However, he's a bit gullible and naive, because he can't see the bad in people (meaning, he's horrid at reading people) and can't read the atmosphere. Thus, it's easy to take advantage of him. Though he's pretty laid back, he tends to keep his frustrations to himself. His sense of humor is known for being one-of-a-kind; it's self-depreciating and inserts hidden bits of wisdom into it to try and make a point.
If there's one thing he inherited from Massachusetts, it's his strong sense of right from wrong- and although he does keep to the background much of the time, he will stand up for what he believes is right.

* His older brother is Massachusetts, whom took care of him until 1820. Mass often left him behind and ended up letting Maine get captured twice by the same guy in two different wars. Nowadays, the bridge between them is still burned- even though Mass does his best to make it up to Maine, Maine wants to keep his distance.
* In his humble opinion, nothing beats watching the sunrise over Acadia.

I'm from Mass and two feet is a dusting to me too. I like to walk to the mailbox in bare feet while i'm at it as well.
